Contrary to rumours, Pedal4Charity has not faded away! – we have just reinvented ourselves!
Over a period of 6 years, the P4C team have raised raised upwards of £180,000 for Woking and Sam Beare Hospices, and remain committed to this very worthy local charity.
However, we have almost become victims of our own success. Each year, the main event in September, which culminates on the Green in front of the Cricketers pub in Horsell grew like topsy, and inevitably began to place too great a burden on all concerned.
We had to remind ourselves that the main object is to raise money, and have some fun at the same time. But, in the cold light of day, we concluded that the bike ride and the village festival simply did not reward all of the effort that we all put in.
So whats new?
Under the P4C banner, The Cricketers are hosting a series of themed Pub Quizzes – tickets only at £10. The first – with a 1970′s theme was held with great success on 29th April. 25 teams managed to raise £2,008. Keep a look out for the date 80′s night coming soon! Find out more
